Goran Ladišić, founder of Project O2, appeared as a guest in the ICT studio of the Ti talk show, where he shared his unique story of combining biology, ecology, and modern technology. With over 20 years of management experience across various industries, Ladišić found his true mission after entrepreneurial ventures in hospitality and ecological projects related to plastic reduction - smart reforestation using unmanned aerial vehicles.
Technology That Solves Unsolvable Challenges
"There are many good scientific ideas, but they need to be materialized and transformed into sustainable models. That's where we come in - technology shortens the path from idea to concrete results," explains Ladišić. Project O2's core business focuses on drone-assisted reforestation, which revolutionarily solves the problem of inaccessible and dangerous terrain.
From Biokovo to the Julian Alps - Without Limits
Project O2 has proven its ability to work in the most challenging conditions. "There are no obstacles for us - this year we planted at 1,800 meters above sea level in the Julian Alps. Last year in Croatia, I surveyed 50 hectares of burned areas on Biokovo; at least half of that terrain is practically inaccessible for traditional sapling planting," emphasizes Ladišić.
Seed Bombs: An Innovative Solution for Natural Regeneration
Instead of traditional hole-digging and sapling planting, Project O2 uses so-called seed bombs - sophisticated mixtures of seeds and substrate enriched with sand and clay for optimal consistency. "It has been proven that wool best retains the moisture needed for germination. We also add repellents - for example, cayenne pepper in combinations to deter wild boars - to increase the chances that seeds survive until the first rains and germinate," explains Ladišić.
This innovative method enables fast, economical, and ecologically sustainable reforestation of large areas that would be impossible or extremely expensive to restore using traditional methods.
